Choice of the food:

We advise a food of animal origin because the  ferret does not have the enzymes necessary to the digestion of plants.

Here some figures which will help you in the choice of food for adult ferret and in good health:

• 32% to protein 38%

• 22% to fat content 24%

• fibre 1,5%

• 20% of carbohydrates

The more the  ferret ages, the less its food will have to be rich in proteins, but one will never have to go down below 32%.

The croquettes for cats with ox or the poultry are most advantageous. They do not contain plants, and are not very expensive. The food for cats in pâtée will be advised, except for the pipe cleaners suffering from a dental problem.

The special food for  ferret is recognized because they cost expensive, and are not always appropriate for your animal.
If you choose food for cat, better be worth to take for a  ferret of less âns, a food for chattons and a  ferret of more than âns, a food for cat adults. Do not take croquettes with vegetables or fish.
